Burning bush perfect for New York's climate
With snow covering most of upstate New York for the better part of two months, there has been a lot of damaged caused to landscapes.

I have a burning bush that has much of the bark gnawed away from the lower part of the stems by rabbits. These stems are going to end up dying, but the good news is it is possible to repair this damage.

Burning bush is capable of being cut down almost entirely to the ground and the trimming does not have to be clean, they can recover from rough cutting.

What will happen is during the summer you will get about a foot of new growth on the burning bush that has been cut back and then over the course of a few years, you will not even notice that the bush had been damaged.

So when you notice damage on your burning bush, do not panic simply cut it back, and give it time to grow.
