BREWERTON, N.Y. -- The Brewerton Library is looking for its secret Santa. A couple dropped off 100 hand-knitted items to go on the library mitten tree this week.

The hats, gloves and scarves are used to help out the needy in the community. The donors strung their hand-made gifts on holiday ribbon, filling the tree with their generosity.

Librarians say the donation was a pleasant surprise.

"We didn't even get a chance to thank them. So we could thank them now. We really appreciate, especially the handmade part. We don't get that many hand made donations,” said Wanda Nelson, Northern Onondaga Public Librarian.

The mitten tree is still accepting donations.
