LOWVILLE, N.Y. -- Some questions fired off by a reporter to one of the 23rd Congressional District candidates Monday night in Lowville led to police being called to the scene.

Lowville Village Police Chief Eric Fredenburg says the campaign of republican Dede Scozzafava called police after reporter John McCormack of the Weekly Standard, a conservative publication, started asking her questions about tax and health issues.

Campaign Spokesman Matt Burns told the political blog, Politico, that McCormack was screaming in-your-face questions at the Lewis County Republican Dinner and even followed Scozzafava to her car. Fredenburg says the situation was never an emergency and no charges were filed.
