SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Alliance of Communities Transforming Syracuse held its third annual Public Action Meeting. More than 1,000 people were in attendance, including various politicians and elected officials including Syracuse mayoral candidates Steve Kimatian, Stephanie Miner and Otis Jennings.

Sunday's meeting was held to discuss six community issues: youth education, criminal justice, healthcare, economic development, immigrant rights, and bringing a grocery store to the city's South side.

"This is an opportunity to say here is the change we have made over the past year. On each of these six issues as well as for us to get the public commitments of candidates and elected officials to support us," said James Brule, ACTS secretary.

ACTS is an organization representing 36 community groups working toward change in the City of Syracuse.
