SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse YWCA Residence program is looking for donations as it continues to help women overcome life's challenges.
The program is currently helping about 50 women and their children with a place to live and case management services. The Y provides them with a roof over their heads but also gives them the experience to learn about positive alternatives.
The program is in need of household items to help the women and their children during their stay.
"From wherever they come from, whether it's jail, whether it's an inpatient setting, whether it's a shelter, whether it's off the street under a bridge, our goal here is to take them from point A to point B, wherever they want to go," said Felicia Hall with the YWCA.
The program is looking for donations of any pots, pans, or silverware sets, towels, sheets, blankets or perhaps a gift card to a local grocery store.
Children's games or toy donations can also help the children that are currently staying with their mothers at the Y. If you'd like to help you can call the YWCA at (315) 424-0040.
