SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Fifth grade students from the Dr. Martin Luther King School in Syracuse were discovering the fun of science Tuesday as part of the fourth annual Digital Access Day.
It's a hands-on learning experience for the kids to make them more aware of technology, math and science. They learned about the iCan program, which is designed to increase the access of under-represented groups to those disciplines by immersing them into the fast-paced field of robotics.
The program and the event help to strengthen the students' critical thinking skills.
Digital Access Day is co-sponsored by Syracuse University's South Side Initiative Office, the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, the Center for Graduate Preparation and Achievement and the Applied Science Magnet at the MLK School.
Time Warner Cable is the parent company of YNN and we are committed to the Connect a Million Minds program, inspiring youth to develop science, technology, engineering and math skills. For more information on the initiative, go to connectamillionminds.com.
