SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Celebrating equality. That's what people were doing Monday morning in downtown Syracuse with a march acknowledging the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The ADA allowed those with disabilities to have equal rights, including transportation, government services and employment. It also played a huge role in breaking barriers, by allowing disabled people to be more independent.

"It is special, because the Americans with Disabilities (Act) began to give us our freedom and our rights to participate in society, the same as everyone is able to," said march organizer Sally Johnston.

This march continues to raise awareness for the cause.
