SYRACUSE, N.Y.-- Being Syracuse's mayor isn't a walk in the park. But the city's green spaces are exactly where Mayor Stephanie Miner will be over the next couple of weeks.
She's hosting a series of neighborhood meetings called "City Hall Parks Here." At the first one Thursday in Onondaga Park, the mayor discussed issues like crime, then took questions about housing and quality of life concerns, and Say Yes to Education.
"Sometimes it seems too good to be true. And people say it can't be. And so we've been running into that skepticism about it. But at the same time, we just keep coming back and showing them more and more," Mayor Miner said.
Say Yes and Home Headquarters, Inc., will have information booths at the park meetings, and representatives from several city departments are scheduled to be on hand. The next event is set for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Thornden Park.
