SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Leaders from the City of Syracuse were on hand Sunday to help dedicate Meachem Ice Rink. The rink was recently reopened after undergoing a bunch of renovations, including new lighting and new boards.
Funding for the project came from the city and federal stimulus funding, something the mayor says was truly a team effort.
"It's a fantastic facility that all levels of government came together and here we are in the opening game, having the youth in our community participate in a positive activity in a safe place, with updated equipment,” said Stephanie Miner, Syracuse Mayor.
Meachem Rink is home to several local organizations, including Valley Hockey, Corcoran Hockey, and the Learn to Skate program. They also have open skate hours for the public.
