SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A local waterway will soon be filled with hundreds of plastic ducks all decorated and determined to take home first prize. Members of Community Wide Dialogue along with National Grid and Syracuse University announced the 9th annual Duck Race to End Racism today. It will be held on June 11th at Syracuse's Inner Harbor.
The day will include three different duck races, one for corporate sponsors, one for third grade students from across the county, and a community race.
And the races aren't the only entertainment at the day-long event.
"We have an entertainment stage all day long that's just a great opportunity for people to see all different cultures dancing, singing, sharing their culture and their beauty with the community," said organizer Beth Broadway.
The winner will receive a $1,000 shopping spree at Carousel Center.
