POTSDAM, N.Y. -- The North Country Economic Development Council is one step closer to a grand plan to stimulate the economy.
At the latest meeting Friday, the 20 person group discussed details for projects that will make up their final proposal. This is just one of ten councils working to create a five year plan to spur job creation in New York State.
The councils will be competing for a share of $1 billion set aside for the effort.
Council leaders say they are satisfied and confident with what has been accomplished.
"We will hit the timeline. We'll have the plan. We'll identify this year's top projects that we can compete for $40 million. If we don't get the $40 million, that's okay because we have a plan and we know how to move forward," said Economic Development Council Chair Anthony Collins.
The final proposal is due in Albany by November 14th.
