Kafi Drexel - Healthy Living
Kafi Drexel joined us in the spring of 2005. Before that, she was an anchor and general assignment reporter at News 12 The Bronx. Prior to that, she was a general assignment reporter at WSYR-TV, NewsChannel 9, the ABC station in Syracuse, NY.
She is a graduate of Barnard College and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
Kafi’s television career started behind the scenes. After graduating from Barnard College, she worked for both ABC News and MSNBC, where she worked on high-profile stories that included the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the death of JFK, Jr., the case of Elian Gonzalez, the conflict in the Middle East, and the 2000 presidential election.
At ABC News, Kafi worked for World News Tonight with Peter Jennings and World News Saturday and Sunday.
Growing up with a print journalist dad and a school teacher mom, the news business is where Kafi has always wanted to be. Health is not just a beat for Kafi — she brings to the field a desire to help raise awareness about key issues affecting city residents, and to help people lead healthier lifestyles. She’s also hoping to have a little fun at the same time.
