SUNY officials visit Upstate Medical University
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A special guest visited Upstate Medical University. SUNY Board of Trustees Chairman Carl Hayden took a tour of the medical campus Thursday.

We caught up with Hayden as he toured University Hospital.

Hayden is in charge of budgeting for all SUNY schools and is leading the search for a new Chancellor for the system. He says the hospital and all of Upstate Medical University play an important role in Central New York healthcare.

"Having a state of the art academic medical center in one of the communities that is crucial to the long-term care of Upstate is important for all of us and we need to support it, and I think our policy makers will come to see the need to support it," Hayden said

Hayden also toured the Golisano Children's Hospital and the former site of Kennedy Square, which will be turned into an expansion for the university.
