New sea grant director visits Oswego
OSWEGO, N.Y. -- The state's new sea grant director stopped in Oswego to meet with the program's Great Lake staff on Thursday.
Dr. Jim Ammerman met with the staff at their SUNY Oswego offices to talk about their concerns for the Great Lakes region and upcoming projects.
The New York Sea Grant is a statewide program that specializes in scientific research. Ammerman became director of New York Sea Grant last month and is making the rounds to meet his new co-workers.

"I'm down at Stonybrook on Long Island. It's a long way and so early in my tenure as director, I wanted to get up here to meet these people and find out what they're up to and what their concerns are and things like that and I'll be back in the future," Ammerman said.
There are about 30 sea grant employees spread throughout the state.
