Plainville Farm going kosher
ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- About 90 employees of Plainville Turkey Farm will be furloughed at the end of December for up to two months as the company re-tools the plant to produce kosher poultry.
Hain Pure Protein Corporation bought the operation more than a year ago from the Bitz family. Hain says Plainville's current turkey product line will move to the company's plant in New Oxford, Pennsylvania, then the facility in the town of Lysander will be converted to the kosher line.
