Joanie Mahoney for Lieutenant Governor?
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Could New York State see Joanie Mahoney as Lieutenant Governor in 2010? A New York Times article says some of Governor Paterson's aides envision County Executive Mahoney as a running mate to Rudy Giuliani on the Republican ticket for the 2010 governor's race.
Mahoney says she has not spoken with anyone about the idea and she's happy with her current job as Onondaga County Executive.

"I was very surprised to read that in the Times today. It was, ya know it's always fun to read your name associated with something like that, that is certainly not anything that I had heard before or that anybody is talking very seriously about,” said Joanie Mahnoey, (R) Onondaga County Executive.
When asked if she'd be interested in a job as lieutenant governor Mahoney said she doesn't know what 2010 will bring but reiterated that she loves her job now.
