TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Newark Valley High School teacher has been accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student.

John Puglisi, 29, of Endicott, has been charged with rape and endangering the welfare of a child. State Police say the Social Studies teacher had an ongoing sexual relationship with the girl and drove her from school to his home to have sex on more than one occasion. They say he also forged a note to the student allowing her to leave school early.

Puglisi was arrested at the high school Friday. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
