"Taste of the Town" raises awarness about domestic and sexual violence
WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Celebrities were in Watertown Saturday to help raise awareness about domestic violence and child abuse as part of the seventh annual "Taste of the Town."

International fashion model Maggie Rizer was one of the celebrity judges. She was raised in the Watertown area and says she came back to support the efforts of the Victims Assistance Center, which helps victims and survivors of violence, abuse and crime in Jefferson County.

The Taste of the Town is important to both raise money and awareness about their services.

"Domestic violence is a very hard issue to deal with publicly. SO we know that in their hearts they support us because of the ways we may have helped them in the past," said Elaina Marra, Victim's Assistance Center Executive Director.

"Being able to help the community that I grew up in, that I love so much is extremely important to me, and especially that it's support the Victim's Assistance Center is just an incredible honor to be able to be helpful," said Maggie Rizer, International Fashion Model.

All of the money raised goes to the Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County to help continue to provide free services to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, as well as other crimes in the area.
