NORTH COUNTRY, N.Y. -- The earthquake has not caused any serious damage so far, but civil engineering experts at Clarkson University tell us that an earthquake of that magnitude has the power to.
Officials there tell us that the closer you are to the epicenter, the greater the potential for damage.
"Definitely produce some cracks, chimneys down, minor damage to bridges and buildings depending on the vintage of the building and the structures in general. But it's not necessarily going to collapse any structures, unless those structure were prone to collapse to begin with," said Kerop Janoyan, Clarkson University Engineering Professor.
