OWEGO, N.Y. -- Bikers were up bright and early Saturday morning for the Triple Cities Chopper Club's third annual Poker Run. This year's game is a five card draw.
The bikers will be making three stops in the Southern Tier along the 170 mile run. At each stop they will pick up their poker card, before returning to Vestal to play their hand.
Unlike traditional poker games, this one is luck of the draw, with the top three hands winning, but the real winners in this game are the charities that will benefit from the money raised.
"The friendship tree is one of them they are out of the Southern Tier, they do a lot to help mothers in need. We also help if bikers have been hurt in accidents or their families need help, so we donate to a lot of good organizations in the community,” said Terri Lasky, Chopper Club treasurer.
Unlike most motorcycle runs where the riders leave as a pack, bikers can ride this trip at their leisure, as long as they are back in time to play their poker hand and collect their winnings.
