SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A major fire damaged the old Marsellus Casket Company factory in Syracuse. It started at the four-story building on Richmond Avenue around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

The building has been vacant since 2003 and this isn't the first fire in recent years. Crews were called to the building back in January of 2009 for another fire.

Officials say that their experience with the building led to a unique approach in battling the flames.

No one was hurt in the fire, but a portion of the building did collapse.

The City of Syracuse plans to demolish the building.
