ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- With the New York State legislative session over, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo is spending more time with her constituents.
Lupardo hosted her seventh annual Blues and Barbecue fundraiser at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott Thursday. Supporters had the chance to meet with the 126th District Legislator, while chowing down on some barbecue and listening to music.
Lupardo says she's looking forward to tackling on-going issues when she and fellow lawmakers reconvene, but is worried how the on-going debt debate in Washington might affect their work.
"Unfortunately, the rhetoric that each side is stuck in makes it difficult for all of us who are in public life and in politics to try and forge bipartisan solutions, so I'm just hopeful that they will figure this out in the nick of time," Lupardo said.
Lupardo says mandate relief and job creation will be the hot topics when the Assembly gets back to work.
