FORT DRUM, N.Y. -- More than two dozen Fort Drum soldiers were hospitalized after a crash on the military post Sunday afternoon. Two are in serious condition.

Officials say four vehicles carrying 27 members of the 2nd Battalion 14th Infantry Regiment were involved in a chain reaction crash around noon Sunday in an area known as Range 31.

Our cameras are not allowed on the base, so we do not have video for you, but this is a photo of an FMTV army vehicle like the ones said to be involved.

According to Fort Drum, the first vehicle in the convoy braked, causing the chain reaction.

The soldiers are being treated at Samaritan Medical Center, Carthage Area Hospital and EJ Noble Hospital in Governeur.
