LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- Bagpipers lead the way as hundreds participate in the 19th annual "Walk to End Alzheimers" in Liverpool Saturday.

More than 850 people completed the three mile walk at Longbranch Park. Those in attendance helped the Alzheimer's Association raise about $104,000 to fund care, support, and research programs. Organizers said the community has really rallied behind the cause.

Cathy James from the Alzheimer's Association CNY Chapter said, “They've been very generous and supportive of the work of the association over the years. We have more and more people being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and so events like these really help us to increase that awareness about what Alzheimer’s disease is, the work of the association, and most importantly to raise funds."

Time Warner cable, the parent company of YNN was a proud sponsor of the event.
