WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- This is a big week for students in the North Country looking for both the perfect college and a way to help pay for it. Jefferson Community College hosted its annual Scholarship and Financial Aid fair Tuesday afternoon. Students just starting at the school and those looking to transfer to a four-year-school were able to get information on a number of different colleges and the financial aid they offer.

Organizers say it's key for students to have a variety of options.

"When it comes to college, it's really hard to find the right fit. As a student you want to find that place where you're comfortable and when you find the college of your choice, you want to be able to not have to worry about the financial burdens," said Mariya Clemons, Scholarship and Financial Aid Fair Coordinator.

This Saturday Jefferson Community College will be hosting a program where it will present ways for students to capitalize on all financial aid options and also answer any questions. The program is part of SUNY’s Statewide Student Financial Aid Days. More information is available at suny.edu.
