UNITED STATES -- Weekly unemployment benefit applications have reached a four year low. That's according to new numbers released by the Labor Department.

351,000 people were out of work and seeking unemployment benefits last week. That's the lowest number of people seeking unemployment aid since March of 2008.

The Labor Department reports that applications have been on the decline since October, a sign to some that the job market is improving in the new year.
