TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Police have released the names of the victims involved in a deadly car crash on Route 13 in Ithaca on Sunday. Police said Prince Griffith, 21, of Ithaca and Dominique Slaughter-Smith, 20, of Fairburn, Georgia died from their injuries.

Officials said Rakim Slaughter, 24, of Ithaca is currently in critical condition at a trauma center in Syracuse and Isiah Mack, 19, of Brooklyn was treated and released from a hospital in Pennsylvania.

The crash near Cascadilla Street also toppled a utility pole, and the intersection was shut down so that NYSEG crews could restore power to local businesses.

Police said speed was a contributing factor, but they are still investigating what exactly what caused the crash.
