BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- It was a message about good decisions and saving lives. DMV Commissioner Barbara Fiala spoke at the Binghamton Rotary Club Tuesday.
Fiala says there's a strong push to stop texting while driving, with several public service announcements in the works. And teens prepping for prom season will also soon be seeing a new PSA about the dangers of drunk driving.
The state is also encouraging more residents to become organ donors using an online registration process.
"That is a major push for us this year and in the past, people could come fill out the form, now they can go online in the convenience of their home, they don't have to fill out any paperwork, anything and began an organ donor," Fiala said.
Fiala says New York currently falls behind other states in organ donation.
