TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Ithaca man was killed this weekend in an accident in the Southern Tier. Tioga County Sheriff's Deputies said Willis Besemer, 81, was driving on State Route 79 in the town of Richford Sunday when his vehicle went off the road and struck a ditch, causing his vehicle to roll over.

Besemer was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Linda Besemer, suffered multiple injuries but is expected to survive.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
