ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- There is no end in sight to a showdown between Onondaga Community College and the Onondaga County Legislature. The issue at the heart of the dispute centers around the college's new SRC Arena and whether contracts with artists appearing at the arena are considered public documents.

In response to legislative and media requests, the college released copies of its contracts Monday evening, but despite claiming it was making the documents public, it still redacted large amounts of information related to financial arrangements for various shows and concerts.

The chair of the county legislature's facilities committee said the college needs to be more transparent.

"Before the legislature makes an informed decision on the OCC operating budget and capital improvement plan, we want to know what money is coming in, and where it is being spent to offset taxpayers' contribution, before awarding public dollars to the college," said Judy Tassone, (R) Onondaga County Legislator.

Tassone says it may be time for a full audit of the books at OCC.
