BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Two restaurants in Greater Binghamton are giving back by partnering with a local organization that helps the younger generation.
Managers of the Vestal Red Lobster and Olive Garden presented the Binghamton Boys and Girls Club with a $2,000 check Friday for the club's power hour program. The program centers on helping children with their homework and other educational activities.
The Binghamton Club Executive Director says partnerships like this one are vital for them to continue to provide these services to the community.
"This grant is going to make it possible for us to work with more kids, provide more programs, provide more materials for them, so we are just delighted and it seems like it is going to be a really good partnership," said Marybeth Smith, Binghamton Boys and Girls Club Executive Director.
The restaurants have also brought the children on field trips to their kitchens to show them what goes into running a successful restaurant business.
