BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Volunteers dedicated their time in the sunshine across the Southern Tier Friday to give back to the community.
As a part of United Way's Day of Caring, these volunteers got together to revamp the Discovery Center in Binghamton. They painted, planted, mulched and got creative to give back and brighten children’s days.
Many say they like helping out a community that has been through such tough times.
“It’s great how people have really come together. Here we are one year after the flooding of last year and it’s great that we’re still together, still doing amazing things and recovering,” said Lisa Adams, a Day of Caring volunteer.
Volunteers also gave their time to help out at the Children’s Home on 1182 Chenango Street and Catholic Charities on 100 Main Street in Binghamton.
