UTICA, N.Y. -- A part-time Whitesboro bus driver is Oneida County's first lottery winner of the year.

Philip Domser says his daughter convinced him to buy a 'Sweet Million' ticket from the Byrne Dairy. Domser ended up winning the million dollar prize, but he says he didn't know he was the winner for about a week. In fact, he was driving around with the ticket on his dashboard for about a week until he saw a story in the newspaper.

"I saw that they were drawn from the Byrne Dairy in North Utica, and I says, ‘You know, it's a possibility here.’ And when I seen 'Sweet Million' I says, ‘Yes I did play a 'Sweet Million.’ And I went out to my truck, got the ticket off the dashboard and the numbers started checking out," said Domser.

Domser says he'll keep driving busses, but he does plan to take a vacation with his winnings.
