While Monday marks President's Day, it also marks the start of winter break for many schools. However, if vacation plans aren't in the cards, finding something to do during the time off can come with a heavy price tag. YNN's Carmella Mataloni tells us where you can enjoy the break on a budget.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Some call it a staycation: Finding activities to do in your area that doesn't put a huge dent in your wallet.

“They are fun, inexpensive, kind of short, but yet a good time for families together,” said Joan Fischer, a Canton resident

A full day pass for Wonder Works at Destiny USA costs about $25 for adults and around $14 for children and free for those three and under. An indoor amusement park people of all ages can enjoy. Even our reporter found something to occupy her time with.

“It's reasonable. It's something that is doable and it’s not going to break the bank,” said Tammy Annicharico of Camillus.

"It's a great alternative for people who may not have the budget or the time to go out of town for a long vacation," Sara Wallace, Destiny USA Marketing Executive.

While playing astronaut or laying on a bed of 3,000 nails is just a tease of what you'll find at Wonder Works, it's not the only place in town with a reasonable price on fun. If you're not headed towards Destiny USA, but you still want something to do with your kids that's fun and won't break your bank, one museum is opening its doors for extra hours to offer just that.

"Usually the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, but it is break week, so we are open every day," said Katie MacIntyre, MOST Marketing Director.

Tickets at MOST are $8 for adults and $7 for children. With a maze of rooms filled with science, museum goers say it's an inexpensive way to keep a child's mind going.

"It also gives the kids an opportunity to learn new things as well as enjoy the fun house and just have a great time," said Fischer.

A fun and wallet friendly way to spend time with family, making memories you can't put a price on.
