HORNELL, N.Y. -- Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is crossing the state, touting a new bill aimed at bringing high-tech manufacturing jobs to New York.

Gillibrand visited Hornell Friday to talk about the Made in America Manufacturing Act.

One of her stops was at the Alstom Industrial Plant. Alstom is a global energy and transportation company.

Gillibrand says that New York has lost more than 123,000 manufacturing jobs since 2005. The new bill would set up a loan fund to provide low-interest loans to businesses like Alstom and create job training programs.

Gillibrand said, "Now the bill encourages our local governments, manufacturers and colleges to pool their shared resources to leverage more private investment into New York's manufacturing hubs."

Gillibrand says many state and national organizations have already expressed support for her bill.
