CLAY, N.Y. -- The public is soon expected to find out what the man accused of attacking a woman and a child outside Great Northern Mall last week looks like. David Renz, 29, was arrested on charges of murder, rape and kidnapping, but because authorities did not want to hinder their investigation, they asked that his picture not be shown. The District Attorney's office says they could release Renz's photo as early as tomorrow.

Meanwhile, his case has been moved to a grand jury for possible indictment.

Renz is accused of attacking Lori Bresnahan and the young girl last Thursday night.

Federal authorities say Renz was able to remove and reassemble his court-ordered electronic monitoring bracelet before the attacks. Authorities say he removed and reassembled the GPS bracelet so quickly that it may have prompted what appeared to be a false alarm, or, the alarm may have gone undetected for hours.

It was almost five hours before the Colorado company monitoring the bracelet notified probation officers in Syracuse. Probation officers had allegedly told the company not to notify them of brief interruptions of monitor signals because they were getting alerts when the bracelet hit against something.
