ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Assumption food pantry is going to be opening up a new farm. Organizers want to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to north side residents in Syracuse.

The Salt City Harvest Farm is looking for people to "buy-in." Instead of purchasing land or vegetables, people will be able help with the planting, maintaining and harvesting the crops.

"We have an incredible, new American community. They really miss where they came from. They miss their homes and farming and farming is part of them. It gives them purpose," said Daryl Files.

The land is 36 acres and is located in Kirkville. It was donated by the Letcher Family of Manlius.
