Ithaca Town Supervisor back in race
The race for the Town Supervisor seat in Ithaca is heating up, as the current Town Supervisor has changed her mind and decided to run again.

Earlier this year, Cathy Valentino announced she was retiring and would not seek reelection. The Democratic Party went on to nominate board member Herb Engman for the role.

"As time went on, I realized that Herb does not have the leadership skills, as yet, to really be an effective Town Supervisor. And, he and I have very different ideas about how the town should function," said Ithaca Town Supervisor Cathy Valentino.

"To say that I lack leadership is sort of bizarre. I probably have had more of my resolutions passed in the past year than anybody else, even the Town Supervisor," Engman said.

Valentino has been Town Supervisor for 12 years and on the town board for 18 years.
