Wolf Oak Acres ready for opening season
ONEIDA, N.Y. - Wolf Oak Acres is getting set for its first year in the tourist attraction industry.
"We looked at maybe doing Christmas trees or you pick, and what looked the best to us was the ag-tourism business," said Russell Blanchard, co-owner of Wolf Oak Acres.
They set a goal to provide plenty of fun and games families to enjoy. From corn cannons, to pig races, and even tractor rides, they certainly have plenty to keep people occupied for a day of activity.
"We wanted to make sure we had a lot of hands on kid activities. Educational areas so we can be able to bring in field trips so they would have a lot to enjoy," said Katrina Blanchard, co-owner of Wolf Oak Acres.

However, the big attraction is a fifteen acre corn maze, inviting people to "get lost" in. With this being an election year, they decided on a political theme, and it's been catching the eye of those in the sky.
"We've seen several people buzzing the property with everything from ultralights to small engine air craft, and they're all looking at the maze," said Russell Blanchard.
I took the challenge of trying to navigate my way through the maze. Now this maze is so big and challenging that it can get easy to get lost for hours upon a time, so to avoid that, they set up question stations along the way to help put you back on the right path. Like this question at number three, "who is Charlotte in Charlotte's Web?" A, a spider, B, a pig, or C a girl? I'm going to go with spider, that means I'm going this way.
Luckily, I found my way out. But don't tell anyone that I got a hold of the answer map.
Wolf Oak Acres will open to the public this Saturday, September 20th. If you would like more information on prices and times of operation, you can visit their website Wolf Oak Acres
