Judicial board says Devendorf violated student conduct code
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse basketball player Eric Devendorf has been found to have violated the student conduct code.
The lawyer representing the woman Devendorf allegedly struck on the morning of Nov. 1 says the university judicial board found Devendorf violated three different parts of the code and has advised that the junior guard be placed on suspension for a minimum of one academic semester.
"I've very happy to see that Syracuse University has the vehicle in place whereby someone would be accountable for their actions, such as these. That certainly makes me happy. On the other hand, there can be no joy in a young man like this having to suffer these kinds of consequences," said attorney Richard Kesnig.

So far, his status with the University has not changed and will not change until he goes through the appeal process.
University spokesman Kevin Morrow said a suspension does not take effect until the appeals process is final. The individual appealing is still a student, can attend classes and continue to receive all rights of an enrolled student.
The athletic department tells us Devendorf is still a member of the basketball team and he was at practice Wednesday morning.
