SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Patients at the Golisano Children's Hospital had their spirits lifted Monday with the help of a little musical medicine. Massachusetts-based music therapy group "Raising the Blues" performed for patients.

Music Therapist Anne Minton says music can help with pain management and promotes recovery.

"There are certain kids who have a bent toward music and that's what helps them cope with their illness and with being in the hospital and it's really a great thing,” said Anne Minton, music therapist.

The group also donated two guitars that patients can take home with them when they leave the hospital.
