SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police have made an arrest in their latest homicide case. Kiwan Rush, 17, was shot and killed as he walked along the 100 block of Eastman Avenue early Thursday morning.

Police have now arrested Tommy Davis, 32, of West Colvin on a charge of second degree murder. They say the victim was armed with a shotgun, although it's unclear whether he fired at the gunman.

"Even though we are still piecing together the exact history between the two, between the suspect and the victim, it's clear that there was an ongoing dispute between the two which ultimately led to this shooting and the homicide," said Deputy Syracuse Police Chief Joseph Cecile.

Police say the alleged gunman, Davis, had been serving time in prison for weapons possession. He was released in July.
