SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A grand jury has indicted a Syracuse man on an animal cruelty charge.
Charles Robinson, 52, has been accused of abusing a pit bull puppy back in January.
Authorities say neighbors saw Robinson grab the 10-week-old pit bull by the neck and punch it outside his Polk Street home. The dog was taken to the SPCA, where staff noticed more injuries, including internal bleeding, fluid in the lungs and bruises on the neck and stomach. It was later taken to a rescue home to recover.
Robinson faces a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.
