ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- It may be the end of April, but parts of Central New York are dealing with snow and slick driving conditions.
An accident on Interstate 81 south shut down the highway for several hours earlier this morning. The accident was minor, but the wintry mix made it difficult for crews to clean up the scene.
This somewhat unexpected burst of snow dropped as much as a half-foot for some areas in Central New York.
According to the National Weather Service, a spotter in the Cayuga County town of Locke reported seven inches of snow as of 6 a.m. The city of Cortland saw nearly four inches, and the Onondaga County town of Tully saw four-and-a half inches.
The storm is beginning to wind down, but for the latest conditions in your area, visit the Weather section of our website.
