Former SU player faces forgery charges
FLORIDA -- A former Syracuse University football player faces charges in Florida for tax and identity theft. Louis Gachelin is one of three former professional football players allegedly involved in the scheme. Eight people were charged in total.
Authorities said between February and April, the group cashed about $500,000 in fraudulent refund checks at an undercover FBI location.
All eight people involved face forgery and theft charges.
Gachelin played defensive tackle for SU from 2000 to 2003.
