AUBURN, N.Y. -- An Auburn teenager is missing for the second time in as many weeks and police are asking for your help to track her down.
Police say Shameka Miles ran away in April, but was spotted in Syracuse and returned home on Tuesday. Within hours, they say she was missing again.
The 16-year-old girl is being treated with prescription medication for an undisclosed illness.
Detectives say she has been spotted in recent days on Midland Avenue and Erie Boulevard in Syracuse.
"We believe she is probably running with some older individuals and we're just concerned because she is only 16. We're concerned that she could easily be taken advantage of. And obviously there's a concern with a young female that's not protected," said Auburn Police Department Lieutenant Shawn Butler.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Auburn Police at (315) 253-3231 or lead investigator Kyle Platt at (315) 255-4702.
