OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- New details have been released about the crash that killed three young men near the Oswego Speedway earlier this week. Robert Sanke, Justin Purdy, and Antonio Mendez all died when the car they were traveling in hit a pole at the intersection of East Albany Street and Shampine Drive Tuesday night.
Initial reports showed that all of the men had been drinking before the accident, and that speed may also have been a factor. Investigators have since determined that based on the tire marks found at the scene, the car was traveling approximately 81 miles per hour when it lost control at the curve.
Two other people who survived the crash, Donald Odin and Jeremy Tassie, have been released from the hospital.
