SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- There was plenty of pride on display in Syracuse's Inner Harbor this weekend. CNY Pride put on its annual Pride Festival on Saturday.
The event brings members of Central New York's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community together to celebrate the city's diversity. The festival has been held at the Everson Museum Plaza in previous years, but was moved to the Inner Harbor to accommodate growing crowds.
According organizers, it's all about promoting tolerance.
"We want to get out the message that everyone is equal, and that everyone should celebrate themselves," said Bruce Carter, CNY Pride President.
The festival was preceded by a parade that marched to the Inner Harbor from West Genesee Street.
