SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse police arrested a man who they say left a four-year-old child alone in a parking lot. According to investigators, the boy’s parents let him go to a store with a friend that the father knew from rehab, who they have identified as Leon Tennant of Rome.

After being unable to reach Tennant for several hours, the parents called 911. Police searched the area, but it wasn't until 11:40 p.m. that a citizen found the four-year-old standing alone in a Key Bank parking lot on Butternut Street.

About an hour later, police found Tennant and arrested him. He is now charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Police also found that he was driving a stolen pick-up truck, resulting in additional charges.
