SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It is certainly no surprise that pools in the Syracuse area were packed. The city's larger public pools, including Schiller Park, opened earlier than planned due to the heat. The smaller pools will be open by Sunday.

If you do plan to head out to the parks in the next couple of days, make sure you prepare because the parking lots and the pools will be crowded.
